MEET
I’m Dior Johnson. Host. Speaker. Perspective-shifter.
My collegiate journey didn’t follow a straight path.
It meant starting over, pivoting in my path, and figuring things out along the way.
From FBS to setbacks to redefining success, I had to learn what growth really looks like.
I didn’t start Perfecting Progression to be seen.
I started it because I’ve lived what it means to keep becoming.
Born and raised in Detroit, Dior Johnson’s story is rooted in resilience, reinvention, and growth.
As a standout football player at Southfield High School, he earned multiple collegiate offers and began his journey at the University of Minnesota in 2015. But like many stories worth telling, his path wasn’t a straight line.
After facing personal setbacks and challenges off the field, he chose to pivot with purpose.
Dior reignited his collegiate career at Independence Community College in 2017, where he earned his associate’s degree before transferring to Murray State University on a full scholarship. He graduated with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Communications.

His journey through FBS, JUCO, and FCS football taught him that growth happens in the in-between.
Those transitions and hard earned lessons planted the foundation for what would become Perfecting Progression, a podcast and platform dedicated to evolving, adapting, and owning your journey.
Though the NFL wasn’t the outcome, he found victory in new ways.
From graduating against the odds to discovering a passion for storytelling and community impact, Dior built something deeper than a sports legacy. Today, Perfecting Progression is his way of spotlighting others who are still in motion, not because they’ve made it, but because they’re committed to the process of becoming.
